The ASI/PGT Joint Venture Wins Two Miami Unitized Curtainwall Projects

VENICE, Fla., October 27, 2008 – PGT Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of PGT, Inc. (NASDAQ: PGTI), and ASI LIMITED today announce that Enclos Corp. awards their joint venture the unitized curtain wall fabrication, assembly and delivery contracts for both the Met 2 and the 1450 BRICKELL building towers in Miami, FL. The curtain wall product achieved a historic product performance level during testing for Met 2 by passing the small missile testing with loads applied to 277.5 pounds per square foot.

Met 2 and 1450 BRICKELL are two of the largest developments currently underway in Miami. Enclos will design, engineer, project manage and install the unitized curtain wall systems for the towers.

As previously announced, PGT and ASI LIMITED launched a joint venture in February 2008 to combine the project management, engineering and marketing expertise of ASI LIMITED with PGT’s manufacturing excellence to provide quality unitized curtain wall solutions to the commercial building industry. Enclos is an expert in the engineering, assembly and erection of custom curtain wall systems which use state-of-the-art materials and require complex structural or mechanical solutions.

“We entered into our joint venture with ASI LIMITED to help the commercial construction industry save time and money by dealing with one team that works on every stage of the project,” said Wayne Varnadore, VP of Architectural Systems at PGT. “As one of the largest exterior glazing contractors, Enclos is a key partner for us in the development of these monumental projects. Our combined efforts will provide the Met 2 and 1450 BRICKELL projects with an efficient, single source for all of their unitized curtain wall needs.”
Met 2 is one of three buildings in a mixed use complex being constructed in downtown Miami. The building will contain 420,000 square feet of glass in a 47-story tower. It is the largest mixed-use development in Miami history. PGT will manufacture 7,000 curtain wall units for this development.

The 1450 BRICKELL office building will rise 35 stories in the southern end of the Brickell business district. It will be Miami’s newest class-A office tower and has 306,987 square feet of glass. PGT will manufacture over 5,000 units.

The ASI / PGT joint venture is currently managing the unitized curtain wall project for the River House in Grand Rapids, MI. At 34 floors, River House will be the state’s tallest residential structure. It is currently under construction, utilizing a two-sided structurally glazed unitized curtain wall. Upon completion, the building will have 4,200 units covering 188,000 square feet.

“The joint venture with PGT allows us to be one of the only companies providing unitized curtain walls in North America with control over all aspects of marketing, design, engineering and manufacturing,” adds Ken Smith, President of ASI LIMITED.
